The Alberta Virtual River Race League is a series of whitewater races hosted through the Calgary Kayak Club and sanctioned by the AWA that can be done when, and in the open and elite categories, where, the paddler chooses. A lot like virtual marathons, it is up to the racers to get out, try rivers, and log times. Over the season in the open and elite categories points are accrued for finishing, winning, and making trip reports on the various races. There is also a specific rivers series for those who want to directly compare their performance to other racers. Prizes in this series will be based on individual rivers, rather than a season total.
You must be a member of an AWA club to sign up for the race series. If you are not an AWA member, please join the AWA or one of the member clubs first. Membership for the Calgary Kayak Club can be purchased here: https://www.albertawhitewater.ca/calgary-kayak-club

If you are interested in participating with a boat/watercraft other than a kayak (SUP, open canoe, etc.) please send a message through the Facebook page indicating your interest. If enough people (5) express interest then a category and registration page will be created.
