Event Description

ONLINE ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. PLEASE REGISTER AT THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS. CASH AND CARD ACCEPTED.

The Revelstoke Paddlesport Association (RPA) is pleased to introduce the Revelstoke Paddle Fest: Aug. 11-13, 2023.

Join us for a three day water celebration that offers something for everyone. This diverse and inclusive event features clinics, competitions, nature-themed discussions, movie premiers, mindfulness and movement classes as well as world-class art and music.

WHITEWATER SUP - Beginner Clinic - $80

This is a 2 hour clinic that will guide participants from flatwater to moving with the flow on Class I.

 

Goals

This course prepares participants with solid flatwater SUP skills to paddle comfortably in a river current. The course not only focuses on skill building, but important safety fundamentals of river paddling. Participants will learn about eddies and how to use them to stop and slow down, river hazards and how to avoid them, and required gear and logistics.

 

Outcomes

After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable taking a personal (unguided) SUP trip on Class I Rivers. They will also have developed an understanding of the potential hazards, along with a variety of new skills that can apply to the moving water environment. Skills include eddies, ferries, and reading Class I Rivers.

 

Gear included for clinic: Board, paddle, leash, helmet.

WHITEWATER KAYAK - Beginner / Novice Clinic - $150

This is a 6 hour clinic that will guide participants from flatwater to moving with the flow on Class I/II.

 

Goals

This course prepares participants with solid flatwater kayaking skills to paddle comfortably in a river current. The course not only focuses on skill building, but important safety fundamentals of river paddling. Participants will learn about eddies and how to use them to stop and slow down, river hazards and how to avoid them, and required gear and logistics.

 

Outcomes

After completing this course, participants can expect to feel comfortable taking a personal (unguided) river trip on Class I Rivers. They will also have developed an understanding of the potential hazards, along with a variety of new skills that can apply to the moving water environment. Skills include wet exits, bracing, eddies, ferries, and reading Class I/II Rivers.

 

Gear included for clinic: Kayak, paddle, skirt, pfd, helmet.
